Moving Weekend!! And Desk Update!

Moving weekend is finally here!!!  YAY!!! 

I'm so freakin' excited I can't even put it into words!

And the table/desk has been sanded and primed....I'll upload pics soon.

State of the Union Attire

It took me a minute day to get my thoughts together on this one.  But, here goes...

As I sat down with my hubby to watch the State of the Union

(his second favorite night of the year after election night...yeah, I married Nerdy McNerderson and I love him for these so called nerdy tendencies)

I was excited and interested to hear the President speak, but first comes first. 

I had to check out the First Lady's attire before he got started.

And let's just say that I was very disappointed.

First, let me say that although the color is not my favorite, it did look lovely on Mrs. Obama.

The problem is this damn darn skirt!

She's got more pleats than a Catholic school girl!

And didn't her mother ever tell her pleats make her butt look big?!

I know mine sure did!

With such a lovely figure I feel like Michelle (ha! like we're girlfriends) the First Lady of the United States should stop trying to make every moment this big fashion moment and just flatter her figure.

(she's got staff....right?!)

The Week Has Already Been a Success!!!

1.  The hubby had a good interview with a headhunter in the legal field  (YAY!!!)

2. I found a desk...

3.  I haggled on the price (SO TOTALLY NOT MY Style!!!)

4. I got the price I wanted

5. I (we) picked up the desk in Santa Monica (and avoided today's rain storm)

6. He (the desk owner) was not a Craigslist killer (thank God for that!)

Possibly My First Craigslist Score!

After and entire weekend desk shopping I popped  in for a look on craigslist and found this bad boy!

This great oversized desk/table! (which I will use a desk) And it's a MAJOR steal!!

I'm so excited!  I'll go look at it in person tomorrow and hopefully snatch it right up!

Then, I'll have my first craigslist project!

Dontcha think that I can turn this sweet thang into the very last desk in my previous post?  Yes, yes I do!

Lots of sanding and lots of painting are in my future.....hopefully! 

(any tips are MORE than welcome, I'm quite the novice at things like this!)

I'll keep you updated on the rehab if this baby really does pass inspection tomorrow.

Shopping Weekend!!!

This weekend was lots of fun....although the shopping was unsuccessful!

The hubby went golfing with friends in Palm Springs....a much needed break from studying for the Bar.

So, my mom and I hit the streets and searched long and hard for a coffee table and a desk for my new digs.

I'm just dying for a white coffee table!

This one looks a little tall, but I love the look of it!

I LOVE that this is shabby chic looking and the best part is that it's a shadowbox coffee table!!

I can put my wedding album in here!!!

This one is so charming!  I love that it has a bottom shelf!

I'm also dying to get an oversized desk for our spare bedroom which will be used as an office.  Basically, the hubs will use it for another month while studying and they I will take over!  Shhh!  I'd love to be able to find something with a little character, but I do want to throw on a fresh coat of white paint!

Love this size and love the glass top!  Perfect for pics or a calendar underneath!

Love this one!  It's like a dual desk....we can share!!

Love both of these styles!!  I love it when the leg has a little somethin' somethin'!!!

Unfortunately, I came home empty handed.  I hate when that happens!!!

Better luck next weekend, I guess.  Oh wait!  Next weekend is.....

At this sweet moment in time I just happen to have a $50 gift card to Nordstrom.

I was in the store the other day and was simply overwhelmed.

You see, "my" Nordstrom recently underwent a pretty awesome remodel and I hadn't popped in in quite a while.

So, not only was I trying to re-adjust to a whole new playground, but I also had to get in the right mind frame for.......SPRING!!!

The colors were all so bright and happy and spring-y!

I was so excited to see YELLOWS, PINKS, GREENS....

So, I walked out. Ha! It makes no sense, I know!

So I did a little on-line shopping and found a few cute things....
